We may think it is only men who use pornography, right? Well, it’d be interesting to remember what happened during a US government shutdown years ago, where Pornhub’s traffic was up 6.32% in general but, when it came to women, it went up almost twice as much to 12.3%. Yes, long gone are the days where pornography was only a guy’s thing; women are increasingly joining that circle and that is just worsening the violence problem as Ted Bundy claims:
I’ve met a lot of men who were motivated to commit violence just like me. And without exception, without question, every one of them was deeply involved in pornography. You are going to kill me, and that will protect society from me. But out there are many, many more people who are addicted to pornography, and you are doing nothing about that.
Well-meaning, decent people will condemn the behavior of a Ted Bundy, while they’re walking past a magazine rack full of the very kinds of things that send young kids down the road to be Ted Bundys ( Serial killer, Ted Bundy).
It is enough to watch a few porn movies to realise that violent and demeaning behaviour is the rule.
However, whereas in men pornography may increase violent behaviour, in women it may cause the inexplicable case of many being attracted only by violent men. This actually has a name called “hybristophilia” and is surprisingly common to the point of being called “Bonnie and Clyde Syndrome” after the famous crime duo. In fact, Bonnie was a prize-winning student before joining Clyde on his life of crime, and after this, she never fired a weapon and, more tellingly, had no voice in the decisions made by Clyde.
Pornography Has Become Commonplace
Pornography and general disrespect for humans have become commonplace, to the point that now is sophisticated to claim one is an “animal lover” and to consider animals even superior. As such, today there is no restriction whatsoever to adult material regardless of how intense it may be; even children can readily access it online with a simple google. All in name of freedom of speech, as it is of course more important than the dignity of man.
Finally, another side effect of pornography is spiritual because it allows evil spirits to come into our homes and even into our souls. Here, the words of late Monsignor William Kerr, former president of La Roche College is quite valuable, as he actually gave the last rites to some of Bundy’s victims and spoke with him during 10 years until his very execution: “Somehow I think this man knew he had within him a terrible spirit that he wanted to get rid of”.
The end result is easy to see, an increasingly violent society, when some engage in violence and others even seem to almost need it. So let’s stop thinking pornography is a guy’s thing and only used by a few; 30 % of all data transferred across the Internet is porn. YouPorn, one of the larger video porn sites, streams six times the bandwidth as Hulu. The largest movie industry is not Hollywood, it is actually located in the San Fernando Valley, called “Porn valley”. And, if that still does not convince and we insist on claiming that violence comes from this and from that, we can try to argue with the most notorious serial killer on that matter. Are we going to try to outmatch his unfortunately long experience on the subject?
Saint Joseph
Here is when Saint Joseph is a model to be followed by both men and women. For men, as a model person able to respect people and, for women, as an example of on what to look on a husband. In fact, it has been said that “a father’s job is not to teach his daughter how to be a lady. It’s to teach her how a lady should be treated” and that work is surely made harder when that daughter is used to watch videos which show women being mistreated. Coincidentally, while psychologists think a major reason for hybristophilia is “lack of a father figure”, Bundy also suffered from this, as he never knew who his father was and was raised by his grandparents. So, again, Saint Joseph is a role of what a father should be: one who adopts and takes care of every child who needs his help, as let us recall he was not Jesus’s biological father.
Finally, it is interesting to note Kerr’s testimony on a girl who was saved from Bundy’s wrath. She lived, she believed, because she had followed her mother’s advice: she was praying the rosary in bed while Bundy went on a rampage.

I wonder if the etiology of scourging has roots akin to those who practice S & M and bondage.
The Passion meditations give us the deeper awareness of the Sacred Humanity of The Lord , that desires to give us the honor of being in roles to bring Him comfort and compassion in His suffeirngs including the scourging undertaken to set us free from unholy attachments . Great promises of protection for the places where such is done and promise of conversions – would be good to have teams doing same in schools , places of troubles .

There was a study done several years ago by someone(can’t remember the name or study} that showed the only common denominator among serial killers was an early exposure to porn. The person who did the study talked to Ted Bundy, John Wayne Gacy and several others. He discovered that early exposure to porn was the only common denominator and that things like family structure , wealth, education etc. widely varied, but porn was always there in all of them. I think he wrote a book about it. Perhaps someone can remember the book.
For those here who are reading this article for reasons of faith, I can give a warning from my own experience as a parent. One of my sons was exposed by a friend at an adolescent age to online porn. At the time I was unaware, of course, that this had happened. When we first became aware of someone having visited one of these sites and asked about it, he lied and swore he had never done it. Later on he did admit to it. However, during that same time frame I saw a marked change in my son’s behavior which was disturbing. He seemed to develop a real problem with anger and did some things that just didn’t fit his personality. In addition since then, what used to be bouts of sleepwalking became terrifying nightmares. After speaking with someone who recommended a routine for deliverance prayer and blessing by either my husband or myself, my son sleeps peacefully. Unfortunately, once porn has been tried, that temptation seems to always linger. Please parents, check your family computer and/or children’s search histories for porn sites. I know my son still struggles with this and wishes he had never been exposed. I pray every day for our youth. They are under terrible assault from all quarters by temptation, mental and sometimes physical abuse and loneliness. I have witnessed students that I have taught who have been overindulged in some ways by being given too much freedom online (and of which I am guilty as a parent) and have been denied the training and guidance that they need to cope with the trials of this life ( I’m working on this one). I can’t imagine how hard it is for youth today who don’t have anyone to take the time or attention to help them. One last thing, prayer and spending time talking with your children is crucial today and something you will never regret taking the time to do. ❤️
Thanks for detailing how your son started to exhibit signs of seemingly demonic effects and the remedies. We underestimate the spiritual and psychological effects of porn. One exorcist said that satanists have convinced porn creators to curse the master copy of a video so the curse can be passed on to viewers. Because so many have viewed porn and have not confessed it and made a firm decision to avoid it, I wonder about how it rattles around inside us and does damage in unforeseen ways. How does it contribute to collective anger and the various societal pathologies that we see? Does this widespread attack on virtue undermine the ability to practice virtue in other areas? And porn isn’t just adult heterosexual one on one stuff, there is all kinds of horrific stuff one is bombarded with. Priests have warned that these images can hang around in one’s mind to torment at some later date. One website said that porn was one of the causes / triggers for homosexual behavior. Back around 1998, Andrew Sullivan detailed how important porn was for homosexuals. Online porn really needs to be eliminated. It is spiritual cancer.

Do you have any data that shows we live in an increasingly violent society? It seems to me that we live in a safer environment than we ever have (in the US at least). The data I found shows that violent crime has been on a fairly consistent decline since colonial times in the US.
Almost all studies of violence in the US ignore elective abortion – 3000 + or – murders daily. the deaths are generally more violent than most other murders on any given day – but we cannot hear the victims’ screams and we do not have to view their bloody body parts [minus harve$ted organs] before they are placed in a bio-disposal garbage bag. While I believe abortion is violent and should be a crime, I don’t think it is appropriate to put it in the same category as murder, rape, assault, etc. Although, in addition to base crime rates, even abortion rates have been on a steady decline since 1990. Given that internet based porn came on the scenes in the 1990s, it appears that internet porn is correlated with a reduction in abortions. Clearly, it’s not causative, but the availability of porn did not increase the number of abortions.

We’ve been very violent as a species even without widespread accessibility to porn. And I’m not saying porn is good, I’m just saying we should be realistic in what we blame it for.
