Five Go-To Catholic Podcasts for Faith Questions

rich, treasure, wealth

If you have a question about the Catholic faith or have been asked about the meaning of or reason for a Church teaching, it helps to have resources you know have solid answers. While there are hundreds of amazing books you could choose from (like those reviewed by our very own Pete Socks), sometimes you need something faster and more accessible. Catholic podcasts are a quick and easy way to find the answers you’re looking for, even while driving to work or doing things around the house.

Here are my five go-to Catholic podcasts to find reliable answers about Catholic teaching. I have used these to help deepen my personal faith and to defend the Church. They have been of great help during my Catechism Read-through as supplements to its teachings.

Catholic Answers Podcast

Catholic Answers has been blazing a path for Catholic Apologetics for years. They have noteworthy Catholic apologists like Tim Staples and Trent Horn on staff. They feature guests from all areas of the Catholic world on their radio program, which they also publish as a podcast. Their regular Q &A Forums, especially those for non-Catholics, are a wealth of answers to almost any question you can think of, and some you’ve never heard! Each episode is about an hour long and is presented in a dynamic, interview format. New episodes are posted throughout the week and the show can be watched Live on YouTube.

Catholic Answers Focus

Catholic Answers Focus is Catholic Answer’s more recent, weekly podcast. It features a deep-dive into important and diverse topics of the Catholic faith. The episodes are about 30 minutes long, but they pack a punch! They are also presented in interview format and feature expert apologists. It is one of the easiest ways to find a quick answer to a big Catholic topic.

Bishop Barron’s Homilies by Word on Fire

The great Bishop Robert Barron is a great go-to Catholic resource for any question! Through Word on Fire, he teaches people around the world about the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith. His homilies are available in podcast form and reveal the connection between the Old Testament prophesies and the New Testament events. His intellectual approach is a bit easier to digest through his homilies, which cover major Biblical topics that can often come up on conversation with Protestants.

All Things Catholic with Dr. Edward Sri

This podcast is such a pleasant listen! Dr. Edward Sri explains the truths of the Catholic faith with charity and simplicity. Pulling from his own family experiences and catechetical work, he shares clear tips for growing in virtue. His podcasts are about 30 minutes or less and leave the listener feeling at peace. He covers big apologetics topics, everyday matters, and liturgical themes. As one of Ascension’s podcasts, you know the content is good!

Life is Worth Living: A Fulton J. Sheen Catholic Podcast

This one may seem a bit different from the rest, as the Venerable Fulton J. Sheen is no longer with us. But, this podcast is sharing clips from his legendary “Life is Worth Living” television program in audio format so you can easily listen. The episodes are divided into topics and can be listened to in order. But, they can also be appreciated as stand-alone reflections on a specific area of faith. Through these clips, we hear Fulton Sheen’s take on spiritual and apologetic questions. His powerful and beautiful explanations will stick with you long after you hear them.
