Why Hope Is Fuel—Ryan Moreau

A recent survey from the Pew Research Center shows that 71% of Americans don’t trust the mainstream media.

In one generation, the mainstream media machine has created a moral environment we barely recognize.

I know how you feel.

I know what it’s like to have your views and values attacked every day. With so many sources of information — and misinformation — it’s hard to know whom to trust and who to ignore.

Those whom we pick as mentors have a profound effect on us.

On The Patrick Coffin Show, I interview mentors — sages and survivors of the culture war — who share invaluable insights into the annoying (often dangerous) “isms” and how to answer them, like relativism, secularism, scientism, atheism, and neo-Marxism.

People everywhere are looking for meaningful media that focuses more on the personal than on the political, that provides a perspective based on the gospel without compromise.

Introducing Ryan J. Moreau

Ryan J. Moreau is a Husband, Father of five, Entrepreneur, Catholic revert, North Idaho transplant and the CEO of Hope Is Fuel, a “movement” he co-founded with Patrick Coffin.  Ryan’s journey to “hope” has not been without some serious bumps and bruises. While he’s experienced the highs and lows that most come to expect with an entrepreneurial career, it was his ten-year journey back to the fullness of the faith and his suffering through two serious bouts of anxiety and depression that reminds us all of how God still can draw straight with crooked lines.

With Hope Is Fuel, Ryan is not interested in growing his own personal brand. This project has always been about bringing more truth, greater unity, a stronger community and a life that is deeply rooted in prayer. In fact, when joining Patrick to launch Hope Is Fuel, Ryan has been convicted to make sure that this project remains grounded in Catholic Philosophy while appealing to a wider, more secular audience.

In this Episode, You Will Learn
  • The story of how Patrick and Ryan met

  1. Ryan Moreau:

I found it disconcerting to see you partner with Patrick Coffin. If you know and love him, you would do well to suggest he correct a big error. In July, 1970 four months before he died, I spent two afternoons speaking with FR. Materne Laffineur O.P. the Church’s official investigator of the 1930’s Belgium apparitions at Beauraing and Banneux. It was his opinion that those who put obstacles in the way of the messages of Garabandal being made known, would pay dearly for it in eternity. Patrick Coffin might well be on his list. This priest doesn’t specify, but Sanchez Ventura does on page 155 of his “The Apparitions of Garabandal.” An Infallible source also warns us on this. On 3/23/2010, Coffin referred to Garabandal as a false apparition. I took the following remarks from Corpus Christi Bishop Emeritus René Gracida (who blogs under the pseudonym Abyssum):

I INVITE YOU TO WATCH MY INTERVIEW WITH PATRICK COFFIN ON HIS RADIO/WEB PROGRAM

“A Walk to Garabandal, a Journey of Happiness and Hope is eminently readable. I could not put it down once I started reading it and the fact that Saints Padre Pio and Mother Theresa of Calcutta were such strong supporters of the visionaries of Garabandal came as a welcome surprise to me in view of the reprehensible way in which the bishops of Santander have mishandled Garabandal from the beginning.
The book is available from Amazon and costs only $15.00. I highly recommend it.”

A conversation between the two of them on this topic should be informative – especially on the book’s lengthy Appendix IV: Catholic Church Authorities Look Favorably on Garabandal.”

It has been my experienced that many, writing for the Catholic media, when questioned, realize they know little about Garabandal and run away.

    Respectfully and hopefully,

  2. For once Patrick is non-toxic. No antisemitism. No sedevacantism. No culture war potshots. And a welcoming guest with a welcoming, nuanced message.
