The Spider Who Saved Christmas

If you have followed my reviews for any period of time you know I choose various genres to try and offer a complete selection of potential titles for your home library. Ever book however doesn’t have to be a long tome either. That brings to this week’s book. A completely delightful story that brings back to life an all but forgotten tale. The Spider Who Saved Christmas by Raymond Arroyo needs to find a place on your bookshelf.

This is a children’s book but adults will love sharing this sure to be classic tale with their children. The tale involves Nephila, a golden-backed spider, and her chance encounter with a husband, wife, and child escaping persecution. Without telling too much the three are Joseph, Mary, and baby Jesus fleeing the wrath of Herod.

In this book you will learn of a very special gift Nephila gave the Christ Child and how that gift is remembered in the tinsel we decorate with during the Christmas season. Most importantly, children will learn that everything and everyone, including themselves is here for a reason. Even a little spider in a cave!
