Praying with Jesus and Faustina During Lent

Created with GIMP

What can I say? Susan Tassone has done it again! When it comes to prayer books with purpose, I have found Susan’s various titles to be a great go to source. This Lent we are treated with yet another. Praying with Jesus and Faustina During Lent And in Times of Suffering is Susan’s latest and it will be a valuable asset to your Lenten journey this year and beyond.

Even you have never encountered a book by Susan Tassone you are missing out. Known as “The Purgatory Lady”, Susan has a deep devotion to the Holy Souls in Purgatory, Jesus, Divine Mercy and Saint Faustina. She has written multiple books on each topic.

This book is divided into six sections of meditations as follows:

  1. Praying with Jesus and Faustina during Lent and in Times of Suffering
  2. Meditations on the Passion and the Way of the Cross with St. Faustina
  3. Taking Refuge in the Wounds of Jesus
  4. Uniting Our Sufferings with Our Lady’s
  5. Litanies for Lent and in Times of Suffering
  6. Jesus and St. Faustina on Making a Good Confession

Of particular note is the Appendix. Included are an overview of the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the promises of the chaplet, as well as a little gem. A Novena to the Divine Mercy for the Conversion of the World is perhaps one of the most needed novenas of our time. We are living during a time of darkness. We simply cannot deny that. It’s all around us and it’s pressing in. What the world needs right now is the promise of Divine Mercy. We as Catholics MUST become Divine Mercy warriors with one objective in mind. Saving our world from the clutches of Satan and his minions.

I have been on a quest to find resources that can help us do just that. Many choices have come from the late 1800s to early 1900s. There is just something about these classic books from what seems another age. Susan Tassone is rooted in the truth’s taught back then. I’d encourage you to make her latest book a part of your Lenten devotional journey. Not only can it change you, but it may just help change the world.
