Hey, Let’s All Be Zebras From Now On!

zebra

Biology is irrelevant today.  So why do so many or our leaders say we should follow the science?

Today a male can say he’s a female (and vice-versa) and we are told we must accept this.  Two males (or two females) can also get ‘married,’ and again we must accept this.  And a baby in a woman’s womb is not a human being.  Babies in the womb can be murdered, and once, again we should accept this as if it is no big deal.  Even though it is.

So if biology is irrelevant, let’s just chuck all the sciences.  Let’s forget about physics and chemistry and geology and such.  Let’s simplify things.

If we can be whatever we want, and do what we want, let’s all be zebras from now on.  It will solve a lot of problems.

All Together and One With Nature

Think about it.  If we are all zebras, we will, all of us, be black or brown and white.  The so called ‘systemic racism’ problem goes away and white privilege is no more.  There is no longer a need to be woke.

And the pluses just keep adding up.

The vegans amongst us will be thrilled because zebras are grazers – they only eat plants.  Those of us who like meat will have to adapt, however.  But isn’t that a small price to pay for being part of a homogeneous world-wide herd that lives in harmony with nature?  Isn’t this what the ecology nuts want?

Of course, all those who raise chickens, pigs, and beef will have to find another line of work.  So will the fishermen.  But I’m sure everything will work out okay.

And since zebras are primarily passive (except when it comes to mating) we also won’t need policemen, and we won’t have to worry about wars or have governments or need borders any more.  All those in law enforcement or the military, and all the politicians and lawyers, will have to find something else to do to occupy their time.

The mating part could be a bit of a problem since dominant male zebras have harems of females.  The zebra feminists may not like that, but, what the heck, other large male mammals have harems as well.  They zebra feminists will just have to learn to live with it.

Zebratopia

And since we will all be part of the same herd, we will all be part of a giant dazzle (a herd of zebras is called a dazzle).  We will be free to roam about the planet as we wish.  Oh boy, open borders!

But since zebras hoof it everywhere they go we won’t need bicycles, motorcycles, cars, boats, trains, airplanes, or even roller blades.  And we won’t need fossil fuels to run those machines that require fuel.  That will make all the global warming alarmists and green nuts happy.

Zebras, to the best of my knowledge, also don’t have much need for technology so we can throw away our smart phones, computers, and flat screen TVs.  Sorry AT&T, Apple, Microsoft, Google, Twitter, Hollywood, the entertainment industry, and high tech manufacturing – you are suddenly all defunct.

And being zebras, if we are true to our sense of zebraness, survival of the herd will be a motivating factor to our existence.  As such, abortion will be a no-no.  Every new little foal that is conceived will be nurtured and will become a welcome addition to the herd.  Sorry liberals, but you’ll have to bite the bullet on this one.

Yep, life will be pretty good for everyone if we all decide to be zebras.  The Socialist-Marxist ideological dream of Utopia on earth will finally be realized.  We will all think alike and act zebra-like.

Of course, if some people decide they are lions or cheetahs or crocodiles instead of zebras, everything will fall apart.  So we will have to somehow get rid of the zebra-phobics amongst us.  This may not be very zebra-like, but, hey, the Utopian dream can only be realized if we are all zebras. Thus the zebra-phoebes will just have to be canceled, ostracized, shunned, jailed, or worse.

Utter Nonsense

Now let’s get real.  This is all utter nonsense.  People cannot be zebras any more than zebras can be people.  And men cannot be women and women cannot be men.  It is a biological impossibility. So why do so many among us even entertain such ridiculous notions?

Try as we might, we cannot pretend biology is irrelevant.  But some truly irrational and misguided people are bound and determined to do just that.

Two men or two women cannot be ‘married’ because they cannot procreate.  As the Catechism states, “1652 By its very nature the institution of marriage and married love is ordered to the procreation and education of the offspring and it is in them that it finds its crowning glory.”

What’s more, God’s teaching is very clear when it comes to sexual morality.  The short version is found in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, “Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor sodomites . . .  will inherit the kingdom of God.”

Jesus tells us in Mathew 7:13-14 to “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.  How narrow the gate and constricted the road that leads to life. And those who find it are few.”

Believe in God’s Truth

Society needs to get off the broad road and find the narrow road again.  It needs to stop pushing the mushy, warped, nonsensical, relativistic psychology that is so in vogue and start remembering that Jesus Christ is the “the way and the truth and the life” [John 14:6].

Since we are all sinners we must be tolerant of one another’s faults and propensity toward sin.  But tolerance does not mean acceptance.  As Christians we have a duty to admonish sinners.  We need to start admonishing and stop being accepting.

Open mindedness and tolerance taken to the extreme becomes moral blindness.  And this seems to be the situation today.  Society has become morally blind.

Pray for our country and our leaders and speak up for truth.  We need to get off the wide road and back on the narrow road.  The wide road is the road to perdition.

  1. Thank you for responding. I agree that my comment could’ve been seen as breaking the rule on “Personal attacks/inflammatory remarks against a person or group; including the author”, but I don’t think it broke that policy any more than the article itself.

And to be clear, individuals suffering from those conditions are very real people created by the Lord. We do not know how common those conditions are because we are still learning. How many individuals considered transexuals have features of both sexes? As I’m sure you agree, there are differences between the sexes and we have learned – very recently in the grand scheme of things – that people aren’t always blessed with all male or all female features (including far more than just genetics and genitals). This is not a case of generalizing from exceptional cases. It is a case of trying to illustrate to you that there is much we don’t understand, but we are very confident that our previous understanding was severely flawed and lacking. You also failed to answer the question. Should those individuals marry the opposite sex based on their genetics or their genitals? Even if rare, there needs to be an answer for these individuals, and I’m not aware of any church teaching on it – because the church’s current teaching doesn’t fit the reality of what we currently know.

Finally, I would encourage you to be more charitable, and I would admonish you for this article. I understood the sarcasm, but it was abhorrent. Not knowing you personally and based solely on this article, I would say you’re following far more closely in the footsteps of the Pharisees rather than Jesus and his commandments.

I do appreciate the response and the dialogue.

    1. Kyle, your initial comment also broke the vulgar language rule. I believe you called me an a__hole. Now you are calling me Pharisee. And yet you say I need to learn the meaning of charity.

You have completely missed the point of the article. And yes, you are using the fallacious argument of generalizing from exceptional cases to make a point that really is irrelevant to the point of the article. The article is not addressing in any way sexuality as in the case of people who are born inter-sexed (Hermaphrodites).

Instead of admonishing me maybe you should go to Catholic Answers (www.catholic.com) and do a search on “Catholic Teaching on transsexuals.”

I agree about your point of what constitutes a good diet. Perfection (in the garden) aside,
my point was, what is wrong in the process of eating. We are striving for perfection and I’m
sure A and E would not have stooped to killing those animals they named. The example of what it would do to a child is a measure of conscience and the people of India seem to have grasped that. Thanks for allowing me to wade into your satire and sarcasm. It’s always fun.

  3. My comment was censored? Because I brought up a biological fact that doesn’t fit within your narrow definition of biology? I can only assume that’s how you continue to use the “biological” arguments to ignore the realities of God’s creation. You choose to ignore what God created?

If you have good arguments – and there are always very good arguments for God’s will – you shouldn’t need to censor me. There’s your sign.

    1. Kyle, I was able to read your initial comment before it got deleted. (As a CS Managing Editor I am notified of comments on my articles as soon as they are posted.) Your comment did not conform to the CS Comments Policy. You might want to read the policy before you comment in the future.

That being said, nowhere in this article do I say or infer that Biology is black and white. If you think this is what I am saying you might want to read up on satire and sarcasm.

The Catholic Church also does not “fear” science as you stated. It embraces it. If you think the Church fears science your knowledge of Catholicism and Catholic Teaching is lacking.

You brought up two RARE genetic orders in your comment that had nothing whatsoever to do with the point of the article. In so doing you were making a fallacious argument known as Generalizing from Exceptional Cases.

And finally, loving God means living by His Commandments and Truths. We are instructed in the Bible – the Word of God – to admonish sinners [https://catholicstand.com/correcting-sinners-is-judgmental-only-if-you-are-post-modern/].

  4. so…….you’re saying a zebra CAN change his stripes ??

enjoyed this good article Gene, keep up the good work.

All I know is …..”by HIS stripes we are healed.”

Gene, I did enjoy learning that the collective for zebras is a dazzle – makes perfect sense. Your snub at American vegetarians, who once weighed in at near zero percent is now up to 15 % and the restaurant / food industry would lose billions without then. The theological reason for this lifestyle is non-violence. You wouldn’t take the average kid to an abattoir, after adopting a cow, getting to know it, then accompany the animal through the killing and dismembering process after which the child is asked to fry up and enjoy whatever they named the pet. Why ? Because these innocents would recognize it as Sin. God didn’t change the rule in Genesis about who eats what – mankind did. Now it is well understood by vegetarians that the way to change this behavior is to practice what you preach. In summary, go and eat your violent meals knowing that for example in India, a billion or so people consider your actions unhealthy, sinful and ignorant; knowing that long after abortion is abandoned, some scientist will render a steak that tastes better than a cow; completing the circle that all life is precious.

    1. OP, I almost did not write a reply to your comment because it is pretty irrelevant to the point of the article. But since you took the time to read the article and comment, here is a reply.

I do not have any problem with vegans, but at the same time, Genesis does not say mankind cannot eat meat. God says to Adam (1:29) “I give you every seed-bearing plant on all the earth and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food.” So we know that these are indeed good foods.

But in Leviticus 19:26 God also says to Moses “Do not eat anything with the blood still in it.” So if the blood is drained and the meat is cooked it is okay to eat it.

A healthy, balanced diet that includes a variety of protein foods such as seafood, lean meats and poultry, eggs, legumes (beans and peas), soy products, nuts, and seeds, fruit, vegetables, and calcium rich foods is considered a good diet.

    2. Great article, Gene! OP – Regarding diet, God gave Noah and his family the explicit right to eat meat. This right was never abrogated. See Genesis 9:3.
