In 2022, what if you …
… secretly put some flowers by a nearby neighbor’s door?
… used a public restroom and left it cleaner than before?
… were jammed up on the highway, but let someone go ahead?
… awoke before you needed to make coffee and the beds?
… carried in the morning paper just for someone else to read?
… always greeted little ones by getting on your knees?
… wrote a note and mailed it, in lieu of chat or text?
… were standing first in line, but let another one go next?
… plunged the stopped-up toilet, though you didn’t cause the clog?
… parked outside the grocery and brought two carts from the lot?
… washed and dried the dishes, thought you didn’t use one plate?
… personally apologized when you made a mistake?
… prayed inside your car instead of crabbing on the phone?
… chose to withhold gossip until all the facts were known?
… did these little things and more, but never told a soul?
… never posted photographs or public virtue scores?
… and everyone did things like these all throughout the year?
Then you and they could start to say, “His Kingdom is truly near.”
