The just completed Super Bowl featured a contest between two very different opponents vying to become the latest NFL Champion. However, the game’s halftime show was anything but a fair contest between two distinct sides.
Past halftime shows have been controversial, but the Super Bowl LX show exclusively featured the distortion, hypocrisy, and moral blur that increasingly dominates our social and moral landscape.
The Political, Social, and Moral Landscape
Anyone who is awake (as opposed to ‘woke’) is aware that this country is presently embroiled in a political, social, and moral civil war. On one side, the Left side, we have those who blur the lines of decency and morality. They also blur the social order, family values, freedom, personal responsibility, unity, and even love. On the other side, the Right, we have those who want to make those lines clear, distinct, and precise.
Immigration was the not so hidden theme of the halftime show. And the Left is trying very hard to lump illegal immigration together with legal immigration. They pretend that efforts to curb and control illegal immigration are attacks on all immigrants. And the Left has allowed the rampant, unfettered invasion of this country by illegal immigrants with no regard for national sovereignty and social order.
The Left has depicted national efforts to enforce and curb illegal immigration as tyranny. It pretends that the agents and officers tasked with enforcing and protecting that sovereignty are nothing less than gestapo-like. They are violators of human rights, dignity, and freedom.
There is a massive shifting and blurring of the core issues and what is at stake in this conflict. And the Left wants to blur these issues as much as possible.
Legal Immigration is Not The Same Thing as Illegal Immigration
Immigration has been a beautiful tapestry and mosaic in this country’s history. The United States has been, and continues to be the greatest embracer of immigration that the world has ever seen. No other nation has been as compassionate, charitable, embracing, and generous to immigrants as this country has been.
Of course, no nation has a perfectly pure and innocent history. And the United States of America has had its fair share of moral, social, and historical slips and abuses as well. However, there are those who would push the narrative to an extreme.
According to many on the Left this nation has been evil, unjust, immoral, and guilty of scores of atrocities. But such negative claims against this country are despicable and irresponsible. While this country has had its fair share of terrible actions, I will stack its balance of terrible vs. noble contributions to the world against any other nation that has ever existed.
By definition, illegal immigration disrespects the very nation it invades. It is based on selfishness, arrogance, hypocrisy, and defiance. It can only be pathetically founded on a lame argument that human rights and need transcend and overturn any notion of national sovereignty and social welfare. But because “I need” or “I desire” a better life, that desire or need does not give me the right to trample someone else’s rights.
A Country of Immigrants
The wonderful immigration to this country in most of its previous history was not without abuse, injustice, and challenges. However, it was basically a case study in a win/win situation. Humble, hard-working immigrants entered this nation seeking to offer their contributions and efforts in return for the American dream of prosperity and freedom to create a better life.
A good portion of illegal immigration today, however, is characterized by a parasitic, selfish, insolent, and defiant desire to take without giving. The earlier immigrants’ desire to contribute has largely been replaced with illegal immigration’s parasitic, entitled insolence. Many if not most illegal immigrants seem to care little for the nation they are invading.
Given this clear distinction, the insistent lumping of legal with illegal immigration is mind boggling and senseless. Why would conscientious, law abiding people want to be lumped together with those committing fraud or other criminal acts? Lumping legal and illegal immigration together only serves to perpetuate and deepen the stereotypes against immigrants by blurring the distinction between the two.
The lame and pathetic argument that efforts to curb and regulate illegal immigration is an attack on all immigrants is insulting to any sane, rational, thinking person. Despite this, we daily see scores of mindless legal immigrant celebrities (along with many others) protesting and resisting government efforts to control illegal immigration.
Principalities, Powers, Elites, Fawning Fools
St. Paul warns us (Ephesians 6:12) that our struggle is not against mere flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, and rulers of darkness. The ruler of darkness is good at sowing seeds of division and confusion. He accomplishes this by employing intellectual, social, and economic elites who manufacture and manipulate the division described. His goal is the destruction of this society’s Judeo-Christian foundations.
Empty-headed entertainers and celebrities like Bad Bunny, Billie Eilish, and Sarah Carpenter are the devil’s pawns. These famous people live extravagant lives in gated mansions and promote immorality. They hypocritically virtue signal how good and socially conscious they are while promoting immorality through their songs and performances. In truth, they are nothing more than useful tools of the ruler of darkness.
Recall the public display at the Grammys, where Eilish’s statement, “no one is illegal on stolen land” perfectly displayed the Left’s hypocrisy and contradiction. If we define stolen land as land taken from someone, then most of the land on this planet is stolen and should be returned to its original inhabitants. And if “no one is illegal on stolen land” then anyone with any motive or intent, moral or not, criminal or not, should be allowed to come and go as they please. Such removal of any moral ground for immigration laws would result in the collapse of society as we know it.
It is absurd that anyone, especially someone living in a gated mansion, should say such empty and illogical hypocrisy. It is just as pathetic that Carpenter nodded wide eyed in mindless agreement to Eilish’s drivel.
At the bottom of this tragic Leftist sandwich are the radicalized protestors in Left-controlled sanctuary cities trying to prevent ICE agents and officers from removing illegal immigrants and dangerous criminals. These foolish people cry tyranny while preventing the government from protecting innocent residents and citizens.
The Left pretends to be about protecting victims. However, they do not care about protecting anyone who does not agree with their agenda. We see no demonstrations protesting the deaths of innocent victims of illegal criminals. We also saw no demonstrations protesting the 56 deaths under ICE custody between 2010 and 2012 when Obama was president. Even the deaths and violence resulting from the protestors own actions attacking ICE are collateral damage to their darker, bigger agenda of creating division.
Human life and national security are inconvenient, collateral damage to these people. Even as they pretend to care or preach about love, respect, and unity, they demonstrate exactly the opposite concern when convenient.
The most tragic part of this equation is its effect on half of the general population. These leftist sympathizers are so full of hate, bias, and warped logic that they do not realize they are being used as disposable props for a bigger, more sinister, purpose.
Deflection and Distortion
The mainstream media fans the flames of this divisive narrative. For example, they report the separation of a father and son when, in reality, the father had abandoned the son. It likewise stokes the fires of anger and outrage by wailing endlessly about radicalized protestors in deadly confrontations with officers.
This selective outrage highlighting the deaths of radicalized protestors is unpardonable. The protestors are even depicted as saintly figures. Yet the media ignores the scores of innocent residents murdered by illegal immigrant criminals. This is both despicable and hypocritical. And it is into this social and moral powder keg that we introduce the halftime show of controversial performer Bad Bunny during the most watched sporting event of the year.
Bad Bunny as a Moral and Social Flashpoint and Measure of Decadence
Bad Bunny is a popular rapper and performer who is notorious for vulgar, suggestive lyrics and sexually explicit actions on stage. He is the antithesis of Judeo-Christian beliefs and values in every way. The fact that he is so popular and successful, and has won many awards, tells you more about the social and moral decadence of this society than his talent.
The fact that so many celebrities, performers, and musicians admire and applaud this man is also depressing. It reveals just how far we have fallen. Already many in the media and entertainment world are depicting his half time show as the greatest thing since sliced bread.
However, there is widespread online evidence of the satanic influences in Bad Bunny’s concerts. And he was warned to “tone down” his act for this Super Bowl. But the fact that a performer of his vulgarity, and disrespect for this country, would be selected tells you all you need to know about the prevailing winds of our social and entertainment world.
The Insidious and Ironic Hypocrisy of Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show
Scores of people are fawning in admiration over Bad Bunny’s halftime show. They are saying it was a creative and inspiring kiss to his native Puerto Rico, Latin culture, diversity, respect, love, and unity. However, precisely the opposite is true.
Bad Bunny’s show stereotyped Latin culture as characterized by gyrating women down on all fours allowing for disrespect by men. It also portrayed migrants as field hands. It was a pervasive defiance directed toward the very nation that has welcomed them.
The notion that simply rattling off a list of names of Latin nations in this hemisphere is proof of inclusion, is a perverse, warped message that is insulting. Where is the recognition of hard working Latino family values and contributions to the United States? Why were many thoughtful Latinos offended by the caricatures and depictions of what being Latino is all about? And why are so many Latinos, myself included, resentful of this man’s pretense to represent us in any way?
The ultimate hypocrisy of this halftime charade is that it pretends to uplift and honor Latino culture and values. However it presented a mocking, degrading, and debased stereotype of them.
The show pretended to be about love, diversity, and unity. But it was selling lust and a biased caricature of all Latinos conveniently packaged in a taco shell. Imagine a black entertainer serving up all the stereotypes of the black culture to pounding music. This was Bad Bunny’s degrading Latino half time show. Yet it is being celebrated as a masterpiece while promoting exactly the opposite of its vulgar depravity and insulting caricature.
Conclusion
The Super bowl halftime show is supposed to be entertaining. Tragically, in the case of this year’s Super Bowl halftime show, the entertainment was missing. Instead of entertaining it delivered a sad message – society’s values, morals, and social fabric has collapsed. And society has mindlessly and cluelessly embraced the fall.
Society has strayed far off the path of morals and ethics and onto a path toward perdition. When it comes to this show, Bad Bunny has truly pulled a revealing rabbit out of a hat.

I just want to add here that some of the responses to this article only point out why this country is in deep trouble spiritually and practically. Bad Bunny is a vulgar, lewd, and arrogant performer who should not have been within 100 miles of this half time show. The woke NFL knew what it was doing putting him on the half time show. It has a very profitable business deal with Apple, which happens to promote Bad Bunny. It hired Roc Nation founded by Jay-Z back in 2019 to select halftime show performers. The performer is not paid, but the streaming profit from the exposure alone is more than worth it to the performer. His show was an abomination and an insult to all Hispanics, women, and anyone purporting to support a Christian morality. The fact that many will even try to defend any of this, especially anyone intending to have ashes placed on their foreheads tomorrow, is incredible. We truly are on a spiral downward.
Susanne Lee: ICE is a necessary agency given the crazy immigration policies our country has had to contend with. The vast left wing conspiracy comes in when the Left lets in hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants without any vetting, including criminals who kill and harm innocent residents and citizens of this country. While certainly ICE has made many mistakes, they are only trying to clean up the mess that the Left has created. Likening ICE to 1933 Germany is an insult to anyone who lived that reality and plays to the Left’s rhetoric. Pretending that the Super Bowl is insignificant, or that is ok for children to be insulated from it so performers like Bad Bunny can champion vulgar sex acts and degradation of women, is par for the course for those who wail on with selective, willful ignorance. Please stop pretending to be defending your nation or your Faith while condoning Bad Bunny.
Sportsball only has the significance you give it. Obviously it lives rent free in your head. In regards ICE, res ipsa loquitor. If you need to, do a side by side with Bovino in Minnesota and any photo of Berlin after the Reichstag Fire Decree. It is said that those who do not study history are doomed to repeat it, but I will not allow willful ignorance to destroy my country or my Church.
Side by side? Ludicrous in MPLS, Homan says ICE has rescued 3000-3500 children. Ones Biden, his voters, have responsibility so if AOP or SL voted for this, glad Satan failed. So, it’s bullocks and rubbish, TDS by the violent left and yeah, the violence is overwhelmingly from the paid leftist agitators.
Re: Immigration, and the differences between legal and not, this part of the article should be sent to all USCCB members.
I am at a loss to think of anything you can ‘regulate’ that is illegal
The idea of regulation is to better regulate and improve the immigration system in order to improve its efficiency etc. The big issue, which I stress in the article, is that many legal immigrants, especially celebrity ones, and the media, fan the flames of this by lumping legal and illegal immigration to further their agenda. As I stressed in the article, why legal immigrants would want this is beyond comprehension to me.
As to the immigration issue, the unlawful riots of the radical few do not betray the many that this president has pushed far beyond the bounds of decency. It’s a poison that has spread from his first term, sat dormant, then coursed through with a vengeance. The columnist, John MacGhlionn, said it best. “ He treats truth as optional, civility as weakness, and conflict as fuel. His dishonesty is industrial in scale, who lies casually, constantly and without checking the label. His claims appear in the morning, vanish by noon, and return by dinner. Memory pretends the lie was never introduced. The strategy is simple: flood the field, tire the audience, blur the line between error and intent.” Not one republican in 5 years has lifted a finger to rein him in. And Wisconsin is by far the least example of corruption.
[Comment Edited due to length]
You are correct in that legal and illegal immigration are not the same. Unfortunately, the majority of those arrested in the ICE campaigns have legal status by ICE’s own admission. It isn’t the fault of some vast left wing conspiracy that they are called “gestapo” when their dress, tactics and leaders own words echo 1933 Germany. This has little to do with the NFL halftime show anyway. The superbowl hasn’t been entertaining for a good while. It’s hardly aimed at “families” as the ticket prices are astronomical and the city where it is held is every year over-run by prostitution, drug use and domestic violence. No children are forced to watch it, unless you imagine their parents are forcing them. The game is just another coarse capitalist endeavor. Don’t give it the cultural significance it does not hold or deserve. Be at peace in Christ.

I agree with you on your immigration stance. Holding a mirror up to past abuses re:
stolen land shouldn’t bother anyone. We colonized Pueto Rico so it’s not like their
residents were uninvited. It would be nice if you could balance this seemingly just
screed with the ‘bad bunny effects from having a chief executive who calls reporters
‘piggies’ to their face. I may give a nod to the loose morals of a prime-time player
at a sporting event if you explain why prostitution in Nevada has been legal for150
years. In the end, we are a diverse nation that God seems to have blessed because
our virtues outweigh the faults.
Nothing wrong with holding a mirror up to past abuses regarding land as long as that mirror is not illogical, contradictory, and hypocritical gibberish. Taking her comment to its logical conclusion would mean nobody in this country legally and morally owns land and we have to let everyone in no matter their intentions or criminality. Do not hold your breath waiting for any celebrity to surrender his or her mansion as an example to others. The legality of prostitution in Nevada and even if you think Trump is a brute does not therefore mean that X-rated language can be pushed on the American public at the Super Bowl. As for God’s blessings on this nation, we are going in the wrong direction to keep God’s blessings coming.
AOP, Even worse than your prostitution in Nevada example is legalizing the murder of innocent children. But just for the record, prostitution has not been legal in Nevada for 150 years. It was only legalized in 1971, and it is strictly limited to licensed brothels in specific rural counties. Even so, according to Wikipedia’s “Prostitution in Nevada” entry, “The vast majority of prostitution in Nevada takes place illegally in the metropolitan areas of Las Vegas and Reno.”
Here’s my sources from the internet
In Nevada, the Town Board Act of 1881 gave county commissioners the power to regulate brothels and curb prostitution in unincorporated communities.
Tonopah, Goldfield, Rhyolite, Manhattan, and other towns passed ordinances prescribing the location of red-light districts. The sheriff and the district attorney were responsible for enforcing the regulations. Subsequent laws passed in 1887, 1889, and 1903 required minimum distances separating brothels from schools, churches, and main roads.
We are straying from the topic of the article now, so this will put this thread to rest. The Town Board Act of 1881 did not legalize prostitution in the state of Nevada. It gave municipalities the power to “regulate brothel prostitution.” Roughly half of Nevada’s counties chose to outlaw brothels and throughout the state prostitution outside of licensed brothels is illegal.

So your statement “prostitution in Nevada has been legal for 150 years” is not accurate.
