What Now? Pray.

love, cross, Lent, sanctity

By John Vrdolyak

Most Americans voted on November 3, 2020. Some of us attended rallies. Some even have volunteered their time in the name of life, order, liberty, and the preservation of our once-Christian Republic. But now, the battle is not over. The outcome is unclear.

Forces are forming to foment chaos, to undermine the integrity of the election, to use whatever means necessary to achieve their goal to fundamentally transform the United States of America. Would we really have expected an easy resolution to the election in the year 2020? So, what do we do now? Where do we go from here? What can we do to stay engaged in the battle, fighting to the end for our faith, our families, and our freedom?

The Spiritual Realm

Few of us are able to guard the facilities where the late-added votes are brought in and tabulated. And stay tuned in to the minute-by-minute updates does no good for anyone, as warriors are needed in this last stand, not spectators or bystanders. True this is an election, but for those who see through a spiritual lens, it’s much more than that. Make no mistake, this is a latter-day battle between the children of light and the armies of darkness. As things go in the spiritual realm, so too do they go in the material.

Overcome Evil

To overcome the evil that envelopes us we must remain children of light. Armchair pundits or serial complainers don’t win wars, especially these kinds of wars. We must keep the faith, knowing that God is in charge and pray that His will be done. He’s accomplished far more dramatic, unexpected, and miraculous victories than this. We must continue to pray and sacrifice for this cause, remaining positive, hopeful, joyful, holy, happy warriors, never giving up or giving in to sadness, anger, bitterness, or despair. For in this latter-day struggle of good versus evil, the results of one election, no matter how important, will not be decisive. Regardless of who becomes the next President, or how long it takes to determine who that will be, the armies of darkness, corporeal and incorporeal, will not go away quietly.

Prayer Warriors

Perhaps the single best way to win this war is to unite with and fight alongside the spiritual special forces. We have a unique opportunity to join forces with the professional prayer warriors; religious men and women who have given their lives to prayer, sacrifice, and the supernatural warfare that rages around us. Think this is an exaggeration or hyperbole? St. Faustina learned from Jesus Himself the importance of these men and women religious:

I learned the world’s existence is maintained by chosen souls; that is, the religious orders. Woe to the world when there will be a lack of religious orders.

If religious orders maintain the world’s existence, they can surely help call down a miraculous outpouring of graces, blessings, and mercy to overcome the many crises we face in our country. True there is a lack of religious orders today, which may explain the precarious religious, moral, and cultural situation we find ourselves in, not to mention the eternal jeopardy of millions of souls. But we can help increase their numbers at this critical time by spending a holy hour every day from now until December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the Patroness of the United States.

Pray

The Institute on Religious Life (IRL) has organized a 40 Day Prayer Campaign to wake up the world and shakedown heaven, uniting in prayer for our nation, our Church, and our families. We can join in this spiritual war effort, by praying with the nearly 200 devout, orthodox Catholic religious communities that are a part of the IRL.

Teaming up with these prayer warriors at this critical point in our history is a call to arms we cannot afford to ignore. Instead of watching our favorite news program to hear what may strengthen or weaken our faith at this final hour, we should unplug for an hour a day and turn it over to God, in trust and surrender, praying that His will, not ours be done, in His incomprehensible love and infinite wisdom, knowing that He’s in the business of bringing greater good out of bad situations.

Our prayers, before the Blessed Sacrament, at Mass, or wherever we can, will be magnified when united with those hidden holy souls whose spiritual power is unrivaled anywhere on earth. And the other hours of each day, we should keep the faith, perform acts of fasting, asceticism, and sacrifice, and remain models of goodness and light in these times of chaos, division, and diabolical darkness.

And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light because their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does what is true comes to the light, that it may be clearly seen that his deeds have been wrought in God… While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light” (John 3:19-21; 12:36)

  1. “But I haven’t seen any evidence of it.”

How about the sworn statements of postal workers-whistleblowers (one of whom at least is being persecuted and suspended without pay in violation of the Whistleblowers Protection Act) interviewed by PV that affirm they were coerced parties to ballot fraud? That kind of evidence?

  2. This article was just what I needed this afternoon. All I can think to do at this moment is pray. My late father told me over 20 years ago that this is where our country and our church was headed. I feel grateful for his prescient warning. I am gravely concerned but not taken by surprise at recent events. I keep thinking about the vision of Pope Leo Xlll and the devil’s request for time and more power over those who would do his bidding. I think we’re approaching the final convulsions of the war between the children of light and the children of darkness. Pray, and beg the Blessed Mother’s intercession on behalf of our nation.

  3. I think the author is referring to trump’s attempts to undermine the integrity of the elections by claiming widespread fraud but then saying the alleged fraud has to be uncovered (i.e., there is no evidence of fraud but, if he’s losing, we must find something to try to overturn the will of the American people.) Sanity will soon be returned to the White House and we will all be better off for it.

    1. I tried not to make this a partisan political article, but instead a call to pray and sacrifice that God’s will, not the will of either party, be done, but I see that there are some who will always place their political ideology above the tenets of the Faith. Look around, sanity does not just need to return to the White House, it must return to every house, along with faith, reason, holiness, unity, order, and morality to name a few. If you think more souls will be saved and the evil that envelops us will dissipate just because there’s a Democrat or pro-abortion catholic in the White House you are gravely mistaken. Can we not even unite in prayer over something so temporarily and eternally important?

    2. “I tried not to make this a partisan political article. . .”

      I don’t believe that for a minute.

The only people saying there are “dark forces” trying to “undermine the integrity of the election” and “fundamentally change” the United States are Trump himself and his rabid partisans. Even most Republicans are pushing back against this unhinged, baseless allegation.

You’ve been called on this and should apologize. This site almost daily publishes thoughtful pieces, not involved with politics, calling for humility and willingness to admit error. Have you read them?

    3. “Sanity will soon be returned to the White House and we will all be better off for it.

Especially all those to-be-aborted children and Catholic hospitals and agencies that will be forced to violate Canonical principles or shut down….with the blessing of a “devout” Catholic.

  4. You obviously haven’t heard of any examples due to the news/tech blackout (have you even heard of the news/tech blackout?). Here’s just one site (Project Veritas) that has the early evidence you desire: https://www.projectveritas.com/. Much, much more to come as whistleblowers come forward and access to these dubious ballots is allowed, which has been denied in Pa.

Think of it this way. If hypothetically, forces have fomented division and have demonized a certain president calling him evil, a racist and a modern day Hitler, and many have come to believe this big lie, have become enraged, and viscerally hate this man, if they just so happened to work at say the Post Office or the Board of Elections would they not do what they could to ensure that this evil man not return to power, when it is so easy to do so under cover of darkness, especially when the left’s mantra has been the ends justify the means?

    1. You refer me to a site that has been repeatedly exposed for posting doctored or fabricated videos and with paid impostors. They do a lot of damage. Through a deceptively edited series of videos, they got gullible a gullible Congress to destroy ACORN, a grassroots organization that did a lot of good work.

The Trump campaign has filed numerous lawsuits alleging voter fraud or irregularities. Odd that they have not used any of this “evidence”.

    2. Every news outlet and internet source edits their videos. Project Veritas releases both the unedited and edited (shorter) videos.

Captain, you have revealed the reality in which you reside.

      I’ll pray for you.

  5. “We must keep the faith, knowing that God is in charge and pray that His will be done.”

This phrase went straight to my very bleak heart and soul. I look, listen, and I can’t believe what is happening in my country.

Thus, a heartfelt thank you for this article. Much needed this morning.

    1. “I can’t believe what is happening in my country.”

I can. America, and the Roman Catholic Church, are the two greatest forces for good in the world. Any wonder the size of the bulls-eyes painted on them both?

  6. “Forces are forming to foment chaos, to undermine the integrity of the election”

? If you’re going to talk about forces of light vs. forces of darkness, a battle between Jesus and Satan, pretty heavy stuff, and use this as your factual predicate, you should tell us what you’re talking about. What evidence you do have?

    1. Evidence? Do you not see the irony that you gave yourself the name Captain Crisis and you cannot see the cacophony of concentric crises that surround you? Are souls not drowning in this secular cesspool of irrationality and immorality? Are we not living in times and in a culture of darkness, division, demonization, despair, chaos, riots, anarchy, violence, lies, where the satanic sacrifice of abortion is practiced, where the sin of sodomy is celebrated, where the truth is inverted, reality is relative, consciences are clouded and even the nature of man and woman are undermined? Times when statues of saints are toppled and decapitated, buildings including churches are set on fire, and Joe Biden, even pridefully referred to himself as an “ally of light” which sounds a little too close to “angel of light” which is how Satan disguises himself (2 Cor 11:14).

Maybe it’s time to back away from the computer and stop trolling comboxes on Catholic Stand and join the real battle, living up to your militaristic moniker. The battle of good versus evil is at hand. Time to choose a side, and not to choose is to choose.

    2. My question concerns this allegation about “undermining the integrity of the election”. That would be a serious matter, if true. But I haven’t seen any evidence of it. Votes are being counted entirely properly, with both parties observing, and in accordance with the laws of the several states. Have you seen anything to support the writer’s serious charge?
