An emulsion, in physical chemistry, is a mixture of two or more liquids in which one is present as droplets, of microscopic size, distributed throughout the other. It looks like a regular liquid, but looks are deceiving. An emulsion is always unstable because at one time the liquids that compose it will separate. An example is milk which is basically an emulsion of water, fats, and proteins. When a baby drinks milk, it separates in his stomach as a result of gastric acid.
There is an important lesson spiritual here.
Society is an Emulsion
Society is an “emulsion” in that we find two kinds of people: the sons of God, and the sons of the Devil. This at first sounds shocking, as we are used to hearing “We are all sons of God”. This is a beautiful thought, but unfortunately not true. Jesus makes a wonderful comparison here with people in general and why are things the way they are in the Parable of the Tares. There, he tells how a farmer planted selected wheat seeds, but an enemy threw in the night darnel seeds. Jesus explains later to his disciples:
He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the children of the Kingdom; and the darnel weeds are the children of the evil one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil (Matthew 13:37-38).
We see this also by the lips of a possessed person in the writings of Maria Valtorta:
In every age, in every place I, the author of Evil, procreate sons for myself. And as God procreated Himself by Himself, I procreate myself by myself . I conceive myself in the heart of man and he gives birth to Me, he gives birth to a new Satan, who is he himself and I rejoice having so many children! You and men will always find those creatures of mine, who are as many Satans
The Problem
The problem is that wheat and darnel are identical: in fact, one can even make bread out of both. However, bread made from darnel is bitter and even dangerous to eat, as it can be infected by a fungus which makes it toxic. Wheat, however, is immune to it; Jesus said, “My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me”. However, it is interesting to note the sons of the devil are not poisonous per se; they only become poisonous when they are infected with the ideas of the devil. They are also usually bitter; who would not be, having such an uncaring father?
That may also explain why God took his people and Abraham from the lands where they lived into lands he controlled: for which father would try to change all the bad children at the school where his child is being bullied? Instead, he would just remove his child from that school and put him into another where he is himself the Headmaster.
Finally, in the parable, when the servants realise the mix they ask the farmer if they should try to pull those darnel saplings. The farmer decides to let them grow to full maturity alongside the wheat, as trying to pull them out at a young age would mean also mistakenly pulling out the wheat saplings. In fact, both wheat and darnel can only be identified after the ear appears, as the spikes of darnel are more slender than those of wheat.
That explains why there is so much evil in the world and God does not seem to care. Jesus explains it
The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels. As therefore the darnel weeds are gathered up and burned with fire; so will it be at the end of this age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will gather out of His Kingdom all things that cause stumbling, and those who do iniquity, and will cast them into the furnace of fire ((Matthew 13:39-42).
So, if we consider wheat as the sons of God and darnel as the sons of the devil, it becomes instantly clear why people behave differently no matter how logical the options are. Why some people are so hard to convince to be just good people, to do the right things even a child could see they would only bring benefit: they just don’t like it.
Still, can the sons of the devil become the sons of God? Of course! Nothing would make God happier, for, even we who are evil still feel sorry when we see a child of some drunkard living on the street and even consider adopting him, what is to say about our loving father? This may explain why Jesus says: “Very truly I tell you, NO ONE can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit”, and in Galatians, we see “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus”
So, the world is an emulsion bound to inevitably separate. At the end of time, and just as it takes acid to separate milk into its components, the world will require some “acid” to effectively separate the sons of God from the sons of the devil: it is the unfortunate wars and troubles we see in so many prophecies.
But we ourselves are many times also “milk”: for we start our spiritual paths with a mix of worldly and spiritual interests, and at one point both inevitably separate. It is up to us to choose with which we will stick with- the water, or the fats+protein. Since Jesus said,
If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water”, and “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink (John 4:10).
The option is rather clear.

I’m glad that you mentioned that: “The sons of Satan can become the sons of God.” This adds greater purpose to evangelization and reason to “love your enemy.”
