Does your blog have a Nihil Obstat from the Church?
In other words, can I take it for granted that what you are telling us from a doctrinal stand point is in accord with the doctrines of the Church?

    1. Although we do not have an official Nihil Obstat, all our managing editors strictly vet articles to make sure they remain faithful to the Magisterium of the Church. If they are in doubt, we have a theologian on staff who they can consult.

As a returning practicing Catholic, I have registered to receive your newsletter. I need to take this slow, as the last priest I dealt with molested me at the ages of 14 to 17 years of age. I met with the archbishop of my archdiocese and he was extremely concerned, passionate and concerned about my well being. He and Fr. Matthew Hibiger, OSB, and St. Benedict’s Abbey have patiently prayed and assisted in bringing me back to the true Catholic faith. For that I am truly grateful.

  4. For millions of years the creator set laws or phases of the sun and laws of magnetism and physics. One law is solar Maximum of fifty years starting 1970 to 2020 of global solar warming. The next phase than by law of the creator is grand minimum of cooling of the sun of 2020 to 2070. temperature will drop one degree every four years. NASA has a prediction of a food shortage at 2027 to the drop of temperature. If you look at global warming and cooling of five hundred years the solar phases are very correct. Global is over with until 2070.
NASA according of few sun spots, will be very cold production of food shortage around the world.

  5. Just came across this site today. Nice to find a site to read different views on various topics. I almost pushed the favorites button until I read the Trump comment and the response by Melainie Juneau. Did any of you ever read of Constantine the Great, who he was and who he became? Maybe you can start there to form a better understanding of the way Our Lord works all our idiosyncrasies’ into His plan. What the world thinks of someone or something is a human calculation, What God knows of an individual is beyond worldly imaginings. Every time you say or hear the Nicene creed you can smile with grateful thanksgiving to God for how he used Constantine.

  6. It looks like you have a couple spelling errors on your website such as the word “battel”. Check out a service like SpellAce.com to help. We’ve used it in the past and liked it.

  7. I write to request permission to reprint the Article “Pentecost and You” by Father John Cantoir, JCD, June 4, 2017. I would like to use the article in our Parish Bulletin. I am happy to give all proper credits and citations. Thank You.

  8. Hello,

Our clients in tech and eCommerce niches, including a popular Shopify app, are interested in publishing an article on your website. Do you accept guest posts or paid submissions? (If yes, please send me the price). I am waiting for your reply!

  9. Looking at the book review on, ‘Memento Mori Prayers on the Last Things this morning, I saw to the right of the page an advertisement (?) or section devoted to the zodiac signs. The title read, ‘What is in your future’ and also, ‘Get your answers’. The contact website was William-angel.com. Why was this there? Do you support this?

We have just read the piece, “Advent: A Time for Reflection,” by Christian Daru, and enjoyed most of it but are curious about how the author apparently does not touch the subject of how abortion precedes lack of social justice, or maybe, how we don’t have to worry about social justice for aborted persons, neither at the moment of the abortion, nor later when the aborted person would have been mistreated, neglected, or lacked social justice.
The dubious part of the piece referring to Bergoglio’s attempts to make his social justice ideas at least as important as the arbitrary killing of babies is this: “Pope Francis has urged the Church as a whole to have a more holistic application of Her teachings and good works beyond hot button issues. Just as sacred, he says, are the lives of the poor and immigrants who are already born as those of the unborn. His concern is that issues of abortion and marriage are obscuring the urgency of other equally weighty concerns.”
It is truly amazing that anyone claiming our Holy Faith as his would categorize abortion as a “hot button issue.”

Thanks for your work. We enjoy most of the articles that Catholic Stand publishes, and what has prompted this communication is Cynthia Millen’s article, “The Rosary in Joe Biden’s Pocket,” it is just great not only because it exposes Biden’s hypocritical use of our Holy Faith, but also because it uses Archbishop Chaput’s ideas about the matter.
If this comment can be passed on the Cynthia Millen we would be grateful.

  13. I am trying to email you, but when I click on any of the links on the contact page, I get a blank page.

    Can you help me?

    Thank you!

    1. As the editor in chief of Catholic Stand and a proud Canadian, I do not always agree with the opinions expressed in all articles. However, if they are expressed articulately, without venom and from a faith perspective, I allow others to express their views as devout Catholics. Catholic Stand does not endorse any political party.

    2. Just wondering who you recommend Christians endorse? From my research every Democratic Presidential Candidate endorses the freedom to kill pre-born human life up through 9 months….and will force all of us to pay for it. So tell me who has forgotten the ways of Christ?

  14. Hi. I was hoping to access Jay Boyd’s July 18, 2013 article titled ‘Brain Death and Organ Donation’. Can you please help me?
    Have a blessed day,
    Colleen

  15. I’m not sure where to put this concern but the link to the article for “Is President Trump Offensive or Just Masculine? “does not work. Can it be corrected? Thank you

    1. I decided to remove it because there is very little mention of Catholicism at all in the article. There’s no church teaching quoted or referenced.

Also, since neither President Trump nor Jordan Peterson are Catholics who live Catholic lives, I don’t think they should be held up as role models for Catholics. Trump is a serial adulterer in a presumptively invalid marriage, for example.

The article does not reflect our mandate.

  16. In your article The Curious case of Fr. Dwyer, there is a factual error. Fr. Dwyer was not offering an Extraordinary Form Mass, he was using a small amount of Latin within an Ordinary Form Mass. He also introduced ringing bells at the consecration and the use of incense. These things were done at one weekend Mass. The other two weekend Masses remained as they had been.

Also, in the biography of the author of the article the web address for Crisis Magazine was misspelled. http://www.crisismagazine.com is the correct address.
